you'll end up with one of each, if you just get used to that thought - the pain will be less. ;)

      You really have a problem...
Do you leave the alum bare to show it off
Thusly risking a midnight creep creeping under and running away with that gem
Or do you uglify it with paint and camoflauge it?
      It sucks to be you,
I 'd hate to have to decide that

My car doesn't get at second look at car shows, and in the average public nobody has the slightest idea what it is. That and I don't live in the ghetto.
Axle housing will be black and set off the nice bare aluminum center section. Nicely ;)

It's painted, I used the Eastwood 2K primer and paint. I installed all the studs that hold the third member on. Axle is basic chassis black, should look nice with the bare aluminum center section.
Going on vacation in a couple days so probably not much going on with this in the next week, but I Think I have all the parts to get this all together for good.

the hoods around here would more likely steal the radio or the rims before they even realize the value of all the parts underneath.

Well crap! Final assembly on the rear axle and I can't get them pushed in. I hadn't done a FULL assembly of the rear axle, earlier I'd put the axles in to verify overall width. The entire project was based on 28 spline axles, turns out I have 31 spline axles, they sent me the wrong ones :/

Well, on the bright side, pulling the aluminum center section out with the axle housing in the car, in order to count the splines, was relatively easy as it doesn't weigh all that much
Just dealing now with Moser customer service, looks like they will be sending me new axles this week, and I'll just need to send the old ones back. Fortunately I still had my initial order form and email exchange saved.

I received the new correct axles yesterday, big thanks to moser for making things right, and quick to do so. Started assembly, kinda cool to see the old jav with rear disc brakes ;)

Two questions. What's your address and do you keep the garage locked?

Now I need to find time to finish it up. Perhaps a days Vacation to get into the garage is in order soon.
