Alex Taylor Is Driving a 12x Record Holding Camaro On The Salt At Bonneville Speed Week. The Adventures Continue

It’s about to get real! Alex is really in it now as she goes through all the stuff that you have to do on the salt as a rookie. It doesn’t matter how fast you have been, what other racing you have done, or what previous experiences you have, when you come to Bonneville for the first time you are a rookie. Period. And that means making licensing runs to get up to speed, but not until you have been through tech, rookie orientation, and your bail out! We’ll let Alex explain. And if you missed the first video, use the link below.

Bonneville is a special place for me. The fact that I am not there this year is hard. I’ve been 238 miles per hour on the salt at Bonneville, and have been a part of racing for records there for more than 15 years. It’s a special place, an amazing experience, and something truly special. So when I heard that Alex Taylor was going to get to go this year, and make her first runs on the salt in a well known 2nd Gen Camaro, it pulled at my heart strings. I made my first runs, and my fastest to date, driving the famed So-Al, Hot Rod Magazine Special, with Keith Turk and David Freiburger and it was an amazing experience. Alex has started putting out videos from Bonneville, and despite delays due to weather you will get to see what it is like to go out and try this out.

Her goal is to get her AA license, which means she will have to travel down the salt at over 250 mph, and she might even go after a record. We’ll see, but regardless of how fast she gets during the week she will certainly have a great time. Watch.

Video Description:

We made it! The weather hasn’t 100% been in our favor, but it could for sure be a lot worse. Speed Week is delayed by a few days – but as of now it is still on. We teched in on Saturday. For this racing you have to demonstrate that you can properly “bail out” of the car in the event that something happened and this is something I have been nervous about since I first heard of it years ago. But I got it done! Now, we sit and wait on the salt to dry up.
