I think motorcycle hill climbs are a different kind of crazy and the riders are a different kind of nuts. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t a whole lot of fun to watch! We’ve got two videos below, one of the carnage and fails, and one of the racing action. You are going to want to watch, because this is some cool action. In fact there were actually two racers who made it all the way to the top this year!
They are NOT messing around in the French Pyrenees Mountains when they aim a motorcyle up a hill in an attempt to climb it. This is one serious hill, with some serious “obstacles” in the middle, and it is so insane that just making it part way up gets these riders all giddy. And they are crazy enough to keep trying!
Seriously, this is nuts and super fun to watch. It is no wonder the entire bottom of the hill is packed with people watching the excitement.
Video Description:
Welcome to the legendary Impossible Climb Arette! Held in the breathtaking Arette – France, this event is one of the toughest challenges in the French Hill Climb Championship. With a 230-meter track featuring a grueling 70-82% incline, only the bravest riders dare to attempt the ascent. This year, two fearless riders, Thomas Jolly and Yohan Peltier defied the odds and conquered the impossible. Watch as custom-built monster bikes with over 100+ hp take on the nearly vertical climb, battling jumps, obstacles, and gravity itself.
Montée impossible of Arette is back with a great Impossible Hill Climb event, at the heart of Pyrenees in France. Montée impossible or Hillclimbing is a specialty as spectacular as it is risky, in which the riders do their best to cover as many meters as possible on a slope with a very steep slope and with some obstacles to make the difficulty greater.
The goal is simple: get as high as possible, as fast as possible! In this biker specialty, everything, or almost everything, is valid to reach the top with all the bones in place. The preparations of the motorcycles reach almost unimaginable extremes and the “customization” of the machines is as spectacular as the event itself.
Impossible climb of Arette remains an incredible challenge for riders who dare attack it, with a slope between 70 and 82% and jumpy sections, it is not so easy to cover the 230 meters of the hill of La Mouline.
With Nitro powered Monster Dirt Bikes, the most common is to lengthen the rear swingarm and use special tires, from spiked-wheels to dragster tires are allowed, the important thing is to get the best traction and that both the bike and the rider can maintain balance and trajectory to reach the top.
Stay tuned for part 2!
