Newbern’s Drag and Drive Fox-body Mustang is cool, but the previous engine combo just didn’t work out as well as he had hoped, so it was time for some newfound power from HED. HED stands for Harrell Engine and Dyno, and it’s home to horsepower in the Mooresville North Carolina area. He’s also neighbors with several other cool spots, including Custom by Bigun, where Newbern and Finnegan visited regularly. He’s not getting a complete HED powerplant, but he’s got a pretty special shortblock and parts just like another famed Fox body runs.
Video Description:
On this episode, I finish building my new engine that will be going in my 1991 foxbody Mustang. Its a 394 CI LS engine from Harrell Engine and Dyno. They call it their Beer Money Tall Boy engine. I install a set of Mast Motorsports LS3 as cast 70cc cylinder heads. On top of those beautiful heads is a badass air to water intercooler from TICK Performance. This engine combo has made upwards of 1500 hp and will make 1200 hp reliably. After I finish up with the engine, we head north to Paradise Dragstrip to watch some racing, check out the car show and hang out with a bunch of amazing people.
