Cobras are more popular today than ever, and while the biggest percentage of them out there are built from kits, it doesn’t make them any less cool. These cars were built to race and while they don’t compare to modern race cars they are still a riot to watch flying around a road course like Goodwood. These cars were a handful, and in the 1960’s they slid around everywhere on relatively narrow tires. This makes them super fun to drive and also fun to watch. We’ve talked to some of the guys who raced these cars originally, and can tell you that they have awesome stories about what they were really like.
If you want to see the fun action they were known for back then, watch the video below and let us know what you think.
Video Description:
The AC Cobra demands your attention. A massive V8 in a fairly lightweight car is always going to result in a bit of mayhem, and that’s the type of mayhem we love at Goodwood. They’re not easy to handle at the best of times, but when you add a bit of British weather and competition from a field of Jaguar E-types and Porsches, then the talents of the drivers in this video verge on the superhuman.
If you’re anything like us, then this full hour of Cobras battling with the very best at Goodwood is going to fly by. So, flick the kettle on, grab a cup of tea and enjoy some of our favourite Cobra clips at Goodwood.
