Henry J’s are super cool. The make awesome gassers, and with incredibly rare exception, that’s about the only way you see them. But lately almost every one we’ve seen has been fiberglass or mostly fiberglass. Well if you want a real deal steel Henry J, or TWO, then this could be the Craigslist add of your dreams. And the fact that they are only 45 minutes from BangShift World Headquarters, means you just might be able to convince this dude right here to go check them out for you before you buy them.
Both cars look like they are in “pretty good” shape. It’s always hard to tell in photos, especially with cars that are in primer or are partially finished. But given the fact that these cars are super hard to find, and that one of these two was actually a real gasser back in the day, we think you could make a deal for both that would have you driving home happier than a pic in sh… Well you get the point.
Wanna buy them and make me go check them out for you? I’ll be glad to, just for the photos of all the other stuff this person has laying around as well.
Here is what the ad says.
2 Henry J Cars
#1 New frame, Straight Front Axle, Narrowed 9″ Ford w/ Ladderbars, LOTS of Body work DONE.
$3950
#2 Old race car, LOTS of body work done, Chassis there, Straight front axle, Chevy motor mounts, no rearend. $3400. Possible package deal for both.
His and Hers Gassers.
Next to the 40-42 Willys, the Henry J ( or Sears Allstate) is the next best gasser body style.
Henry Js were never sold in England , which is a shame as there would be loads left to play around with now!
What I’d do with these babies is restore and sell both the shells to finance a Kevlar body and then stuff a Curran Brothers Mazda rotary in a full on tube frame and go Pro Mod Chevy huntin’
Awesome!
