How much head scratching did you do when you read that headline? We did plenty ourselves. When we searched “World’s Fastest Festiva” we expected to get a Shogun, the Festiva with a Taurus SHO motor mounted behind the seats pushing the little cracker box around with 300hp out of the rear. What we did not expect was a V8 powered Fiesta blowing the front tires off as if a drunk Australian was trying to win the burnout contest.
What we know about this car, which is named “Lost Innocence”, comes directly from the owner’s CarDomain page:
V8 IN A FORD FESTIVA WHY NOT? Allow me to explain what I did to this poor little car.I have a 355 Chevy V8 engine mounted in the rear and I kept it front wheel drive,Yes it can do wicked reverse donuts. The transmission is a Chevy TH-350 running forward threw a shortened driveshaft. The differential is a limited-slip out of a 1989 BMW 325I.The c/v shafts are out of an audi 90 ,Yes they had to be heavily modified.I Stiffened up the car and added a roll bar.The car has an extremely custom exhaust, there is a cutout in the center so you can run it threw the two mufflers in the back and keep it quiet or you can get it LOUD by running it out the stacks. The interior still needs some finishing and the stock brakes definitely need up grading, but I’ll get to that later. This is probably one of the meanest sleepers ever.I’M TRYING TO PUT FLAMETHROWERS ON THIS BUT I CAN’T FIND A GOOD SYSTEM, IF YOU HAVE SOME ADVISE PLEASE LET ME KNOW,THANKS.
Flamethrowers. Like this Festiva needed anything else. This thing is pissed off and we love it!

Google Fastiva do it
That footage is from the Syracuse Nationals burnout competition a few years back, when they still held the burnout contest (And grandstand events in general) It was pretty sick and I always wondered how he made it work but I could never find the guy to ask him
Forget upgrading the brakes for safety reasons, the car needs flame throwers!
FWD w/ SBC? Tiny stock wheels and tires? Maybe it’s a “sleeper” but who are you gonna beat with about zero traction? Other than for tire smoke, this thing’s fail on a bicycle.
