I’m not a winter person. I would rather roast in the desert that freeze in a snowbank by a mile. As I make my way through a damp, cold winter at BangShift MidWest, my mind goes back to the Southwest and all of the warmth and beauty of the desert. One place that I haven’t been yet that I’d like to see is Moab, Utah. Long hailed by off-roaders as a playground, Moab has tons of rock crawling and slick rock formations found in a wide network of trails around adjacent to the town.
Hell’s Revenge Trail is part of the Sand Flats Recreation Area and is not one for beginners. Recommendations include low gearing, lockers and a spotter who knows exactly what they are doing, especially at sections of the trail well-known for rollovers. Or, you could be like the man in this ex-cop Crown Victoria, give absolutely zero f***s about the trail’s rating, and just cruise your way to the top for a spectacular view. Your choice. The CV seems to have enough ground clearance for the slick rock, has enough suspension travel to deal with the surface, enough power to get up the rock without a ton of drama, and the spotter…well, he’s friendly, at least. The music is a little annoying but watching the big Ford cruise right on up the trail is just awesome.
That guy is my hero!! Awesome!
I find it hilarious the Jeep guy said the automatic transmission won’t make it.
