Watching Icelandic hill climb events makes you think that someone looked at a remote-control buggy and went, “That’s what we need: overpowered, big chunky tires, and the ability to do any and everything possible without breaking!” We’ve seen them do it all: climb hills that are made up of volcanic ash and gritty sand, hydroplane over water like that is a normal part of driving, and bounce on every possible part of the car, only for the driver to roll away from the scene of the accident as if he only thumped someone’s bumper in a parking lot. In short, we want one, badly. This one, named Lightfoot, belongs to Arne Johannessen and it’s a monster. It’s a tube-frame special with early Bronco bodywork and a 850hp big-block doling out the noise and grunt needed to make those paddle tires move cubic yards of earth from one section of the mountain to the other. This footage, compiled of videos taken at Skien, Norway and Akureyri, Iceland shows just what the monster can accomplish when Johannessen lets that motor sing. Vertical walls, soft hillsides sideways and water crossings? Bring it on.

Whee doggies, that’s some insane sheet right there.
That old guy rules! Go back and turn the sound up more, and watch it again.
