The Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum produces the California Hot Rod Reunion vintage drag race event that BangShift.com will be covering with live video the weekend of October 16-18, 2009, so the museum has been on our minds lately. We stopped by there to take pictures of lots of the drag and Salt Flats race cars and memorabilia that the museum has on display so we could give you a virtual tour. You really need to see it for yourself, and our gallery will show you why.
In addition to having a killer collection of cars, there is also a lot of small items that show the history of drag racing and dry lakes racing, including old helmets, drag strip win jackets, trophies, photos, and other things that will amaze you just because they represent so much history. The Museum also has cruise nights during the summer and a bunch of special events. It’s open Wednesday through Sunday 10 to 5. Be there! See the museum web site here.
