This Camaro Is Meant To Be A Middle Finger To The Internet’s Idea Of A Good Build

The idea of building a car to a trend has always kind of tweaked me a bit. Pro Street. Pro Touring. Street Freak. Day Two. Whatever happened to building a car your way, the way you envisioned it from start to finish? I’m not saying you can’t learn lessons from some of these trends…hell, we agree with Pro Touring adding in good suspension, brakes and overdrive transmissions…but that doesn’t mean that your car has to look like the cars of the Ultima Street Car shootouts in order to be cool, just like you didn’t need to tub your car with a bunch of stuff out of the Art Morrison catalogs in the 1990s. Build it to the way you want it.

/drive’s Big Muscle takes a look at this particular 1969 Camaro that has some upgraded parts on it. It’s got a full Ridetech airbag kit on it. It’s got a five-speed transmission. But there isn’t a period-correct big-block, or an LS under the hood. It’s a cleaned up 383 stroker running a carb. From the flared fenders to the modified-but-stock-looking houndstooth covered seats, this Camaro was put together how the owner wanted, nothing more. He didn’t set out to impress anyone but himself, and maybe that’s the most impressive part.

Because a true car guy/gal doesn’t have to impress anybody…………
The only person they have to impress is themselves…
