Crashing His Dodge Viper At The Nurburgring Was Just The Start Of This Guy’s Bad Day

Crashing His Dodge Viper At The Nurburgring Was Just The Start Of This Guy’s Bad Day

Touristenfahrten days at the Nurburgring Nordschliefe offer drivers a shot at the infamous Green Hell itself. There are plenty of rules in place to keep every would-be racer well-behaved and sorted, but let’s face facts for a moment: this is Germany’s most famous racetrack. There are videos everywhere of drivers attempting to master the 12.9 mile loop, but a lot of racers have seemed to have missed the sections of YouTube that showcase some of the biggest offs and screwups possible. The Nordschliefe is a difficult track with unpredictable surface conditions, and even the most talented racers tend to be nervous about driving it. Novices…well, not so much. The owner of this second-generation Dodge Viper got caught up at the Adenauer Forst section and the impact was enough to rattle our bones. But a wrecked Viper was just the least of their issues. Here’s how bad their wallet will hurt before the car is assessed:

  • Base fee for attendance of armco truck: €150
  • Removing damaged armco: €10/metre (x2 or x3 or x4 for multiple-height sections)
  • Replacement armco: €31/metre (x2 or x3 for double/triple height)
  • Removing damaged armco posts: €5.10 each
  • Replacing armco post: €39 each
  • Safety car attendance: €82 per 30 mins (car + 2 people)
  • Circuit closure: €1,350 per hour
  • Recovery truck: €250 (inc VAT)

On top of that, add 19% VAT for everything but the tow truck. Did you hear a yelping noise? That was his wallet, running for it’s life.

I can’t muster sympathy for people that have nicer toys than me. Not saying it’s right, but even as a kid if someone had the Micro Machines Super Van City I wanted and it got run over by their mom’s car, I didn’t feel too bad for them.

You suck at life… When I see someone with nicer toys than I have it makes me want to work harder so I can afford them too, entitlement mentality at it’s finest here..

You forgot to add in base price for fixing a wrecked Viper. He won’t have a need for a wallet after all that.

I think the funnest thing is when he smacks the wall…the grocery’s fly out of the trunk!!….prof… that just because you can afford it doesn’t mean you can drive it
