We had a heat wave going on in Southern California last weekend, and temps at Hotchkis Sport Suspension’s Santa Fe Springs headquarters were over 100 degrees, when I rolled in for their annual All GM Open House and Car Show. Despite being a GM, and despite the heat, there was no place for me to park the $200 Hauler Suburban, so I had to park across the street and walk. Well over 100 cars and 200 people were on hand for the open house, and with good reason. It was a hell of a good time. What’s not to like when a company like Hotchkis invites you in for good technical info, good food, and a raffle so big it seemed like everyone but us won something. I think there was a conspiracy going on here.
In all seriousness, at least half of the people in attendance took home everything from shirts to Falken RC Cars and Hedman shop clocks. Of course there were plenty of Hotchkis schwag being handed out as well and despite the heat everyone was having a great time. As a special treat, John Hotchkis and crew rolled the Hotchkis 962 Porsche IMSA GTP car out the door and fired it up for all of us at the end of the show. The car is for sale, and I’m sure it’s for more than two of my houses would cost, but damn that car is sexy.
Big thanks to John Hotchkis and the entire Hotchkis Sport Suspension team for inviting us, and to Jon Barrett at Kahn Media for sharing a couple of his photos as well.
For you Mopar and Ford fans out there, don’t fret, Hotchkis will be announcing an all Mopar and all Ford Open House before you know it.
The 65 Impala and the 65 Sportwagon please
I’ll take those Pontiac powered Pontiacs (red firebird and gto) anytime.
