Scott Oksas And Mike Bowman Okay After Horrific Double Pro Mod Crash At NMCA Finals

This one was crazy!!! Watch this video and you’ll see Oksas and Bowman running in the first round of Pro Mod at the NMCA West Finals in Fontana when things went wrong in the worst way. Oksas appeared to have been heading toward the centerline and brought it back into his lane but then lost traction and the car made the most violent left hand turn from the right lane and then hit the wall behind Bowman and flipped into the air and around like crazy, even catching on fire briefly. Bowman meanwhile makes it through without a scratch until the chutes either don’t deploy or rip off and he flies into the sand trap at the top end of the racetrack. Not good for sure, and we’re glad that both drivers are okay. We can’t say the same thing for their Pro Mod cars.

But…Cars can be fixed, and usually a lot easier than people.

We wish both teams the best of luck, and are sad to see this happen to them. Watch the video below.

Scott Oksas & Bowman run at NMCA West Coast World Finals 2015It was promising to be a great run between Scott Oksas and Mike Bowman during the first round of eliminations in Garrett Turbo Pro Mod at the 4th Annual NMCA West Coast World Finals, but things went south right at the 1,000-ft mark. Oksas got loose and veered left into the wall, finally spinning to a stop. While most eyes were focused on Oksas, Bowman’s chutes failed to deploy and he subsequently went into the sand trap and safety net at the end of the track. Special thanks to Scott Oksas who gave us permission to post the video. Both drivers are fine, and Oksas noted that the race car insurance he buys is one of his best investments.
