Wheelstands Aplenty: Round One Of The Australian Pro Street Association’s Championship at Calder Park!

Wheelstands Aplenty: Round One Of The Australian Pro Street Association’s Championship at Calder Park!

You want to know where the thunder truly is Down Under? Visit any of the local tracks, you’ll find plenty of it, especially now that the Australian Pro Street Association’s 2016 Championship season is up and running. From X275 cars all the way through Pro Street Blown, these door slammer cars run the gamut, from 10-second True Street cars that are probably on the street (an actual feat in Australia) to the top edge of the five-second club for Outlaw Extreme. And there’s a little bit of everything, from the tasty Aussie fare we are used to in the form of Holdens, Falcons, and even a Mopar or two, to a couple of tightly wound imports (including a screaming first-gen RX7), to American cars that would look right at home on any track in our backyard. The APSA is intending on hitting every state in Australia this year, with events in Sydney, Willowbank and Benaraby scheduled for the year.

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

    I love Aussie drag racing!

Small cars/big motors, bouncing wheelies and best of all, screaming Mazda rotaries!

    Wailing Matilda indeed…
