Depending on how you view this, Brandon Pesz is either one hell of a driver or had enough luck on his side to take care of a good-sized city, because the run he made in Keith Haney’s “Enigma” 2015 Camaro SS radial car. It might look like it’s set up for Pro Nitrous, but Enigma was built specifically for radial racing, running 315mm Mickey Thompsons out back…not the easiest rubber to hook with when you are running a powerplant that is well above 900ci and is being sprayed with nitrous. The Camaro ran a 3.89@191 at Lights Out 7, and hooked solidly during that run. At Tulsa, however, it was a totally different story: off of the light Pesz went into a power wheelie and from the in-car camera, was turning left while the nose was still hanging in the air. When he came back down, the rears unloaded and the puckering began. The car went into a fast counter-clockwise spin that looked danger-close to a rollover at one point, then when the car was traveling backwards, the rear end lifted off of the ground enough to allow the car to ride up and onto the barrier instead of a direct impact. This could have been a lot worse than it was!
