Tera Wendland Graves is a certified bad ass and Nostalgia Drag Racing junky. Her and husband Chris Graves run Max Cackle Photography and submit photos to us here on BangShift.com pretty regularly. What’s cool is that Tera gets to tell Chris to keep working while she goes to make a run. And not in just any old hot rod either. Nope, she drives a Junior Fuel car! Front engine, Nostalgia Dragster, with a blown Small Block on Alcohol. And it hauls ass.
Below you’ll find a great video that our boy Les Mayhew, from Nitro America, shot at this years Southwest Heritage Series event in Denton, Texas. It was her first time back in the car since throwing the rods out of it in Tulsa and, as you’ll see in the interview, she was a little nervous about getting back in the car after hopping out under such circumstances.
We love this video not only because Tera and Chris are such good people, and not just because Les Mayhew is the best at capturing the stories of Nostalgia Drag Racing, but also because it shows that not all of us on this side of the racing world are ONLY on the outside looking in. Some of us, like Tera are racers just like you.
