When we say that anything can happen on Rocky Mountain Race Week, we mean it. Case in point: during a section of the drive earlier tonight, as the cars were driving along through fields, Doug Cline and his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro just narrowly missed having a second year of bad luck. Last year, he ran off of the end of the track and into the sandpit. This year, as the cars were driving along, they startled a group of deer, who began to run alongside the cars. Right as the camera car passed the deer, the group turned and the large buck made a break for the woodline on the other side of the highway, just in front of a undoubtedly surprised Cline.
We are all for finding some decent venison and all, but not like this!
That would cost some major ‘bucks’ to repair the damage had he hit that sucker.
