Cruising Woodward Early: Check Out Some Of The Iron Rolling Down The Road!

I grew up reading the stories from the guys who were actually there when the real scene was happening. Telegraph Road. Woodward Avenue. Diners, burger joints, cars everywhere. Races from light to light. As a kid reading these stories in the early 1990s, it was difficult to actually imagine all of this going down, and now it would be an impossibility on numerous levels, but it’s easier to understand how it must have been as you soak in the Woodward show scene for the first time. It’s not the stoplight drags of the Sixties, no matter how much they would love for you to think otherwise. But rolling up and down the drag with a carload of buddies or your girl on your side doesn’t go out of style, especially when you are wheeling a legitimately awesome piece of iron along the way.

Luckily, with MSHS’s show lot sitting right on the intersection of Woodward and Orchard Lake in Pontiac, there was no shortage of sweet rides passing by. Between what was captured today and what will be captured tomorrow, you are going to see a ton of photos…with the Woodward Dream Cruise being the world’s largest one-day automotive event in the world, it’s gonna be like shooting fish in a barrel: just aim the camera and shoot. Just be careful who you point that camera at…you might come up with some surprised faces:
