Dare To Be Different In The Dirt: Check Out This Mud Dragging Bradley GT!

Between the mid-1960s and the point in the late 1970s when the drugs ran out, there were a ton of kit cars made, most of which seemed adapted to giving the Volkswagen Beetle a look that didn’t scream out “dork”. How successful were they? Well, I’ll put it like this: Unless it’s been featured here or on YouTube, every Sterling Nova, Bradley GT, or those like it that I’ve ever laid eyes on was sitting on flat tires, with a car cover somewhere on it…usually half off and flapping in the wind…and no hope of seeing road use anytime in the near or far future. Kind of sad for a kit car, isn’t it? The Bradley GT is one that really sticks out in my head, mainly because of one that was at an apartment complex I lived in about ten years ago: gold metal flake, slot mags, and enough algae growing on it that you’d need to pressure-wash and re-coat the fiberglass before you could do anything with it. I always wanted to see a V8 powered Bradley, but I never expected to see one set up as a mud dragger, complete with four-wheel drive. VictoryRedColorado found this beast at the Bureau County Fair in Princeton, Illinois and we’re trying to figure it out…it’s claimed to be on a Blazer chassis and to be rocking a 400ci small block. We believe the engine, but the four lugs per wheel and the length of the Bradley are making us re-think the chassis a little. But that’s nit-picking a bit…we love this beast!
