Just when you think there can’t be anymore “Barn Finds” out there, something like this 1970 Corvette comes along. With just 5,879 miles on it, this thing has clearly been sitting for a long long time. But it is a legit Big Block 4-speed T-Top 1970 Corvette. It also has a removable back window which is awesome, but it’s rough and in need of a complete restoration. With that said, at only $16,500 we think this car is a deal. Sure it’s the lower powered 390 horse 454, which came with the Quadrajet, a hydraulic flat tappet camshaft, and compression that was one point lower, but we’ll take it. What would you do with this barn find Corvette?
Here is the info from the seller:
I have for sale a 1970 chevy corvette stingray 454 4 speed. The car has 5,879 oem miles. Need to see to appreciate. The car is t top and also back window does come off as well. The car runs and drives as we speak but dose need to be redone. Asking $16,500 O.B.O. the way the car sits now will bring more then what I’m asking for. If interested please call (562) 316-6454
No way is that the right mileage, rips on seats and wires hanging interior, and look at the aftermarket wheels ???
5,875 miles?????
Maybe 105,875
BS on the mileage unless…a momma brown bear and her cubs bought it new and took it to ” Jellystone Park” to live in.
Its like those cop cars one can buy at auction: the odometer says 150,000 miles but the car really has 300,000 miles of abuse
5875 OEM miles 100,000 aftermarket miles. 78 style seats in car, strange blue paint on intake not Chevy orange, non original hose clamps, A/C compressor missing. note to seller all C3 coupes are T-tops
5.8K HAHAHAHAHAHAHA No F-King way. There was a bra on it at one time..which by my estimate woulda been late 80\’s early 90\’s (I\’m guessing because that seemed to be the peak of popularity for those stupid things) This ol\’ girl was ridden hard and put away wet. No way a 6K motor looks that bad I don\’t care how long its been sitting….Mallory sticker, trashed interior, busted up fiberglass on the nose….no, no way, nope…not buying that malarkey!
truck 454. P.O.S.
Unless it has a “512” block, (and from the looks of it) not worth the price.
Yawn…..another curber at work. That’s at least 105K…
no. way too many problems and not enough answers. It’s also missing tons of important, numbers-matching stuff… not to mention that cars of that vintage had orange motors…. so let’s recap, not original motor, unknown mileage (at least 105,000)…. value, restored, is 25-35k…. no, just no.
oh yeah, and wrong seats – those are 78 and newer seats.
There’s one born every minute, ….
