Bonneville is coming up in less than a month, and while the normal buzz surrounding the salt is starting to bubble, there is a lot of talk about Bolivia. Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia to be exact, where the Top 1 Ack Attack streamliner is planning to run over 400 mph in less than two weeks. It is the World’s Largest salt flat and is 4000 square miles. There is access to get to it, the people in Bolivia have already started racing on it, and there is nothing but travel keeping anyone else from going. Except the altitude of course. It is at 12,500 feet elevation. Ouch! For those who run naturally aspirated that will be a problem. But for those with boost, who bring their own altitude, it is less of a problem. The thin air is better for aero too!
The Ack Attack team have been filming and will continue to bring cameras with them for their entire adventure so they can share it with all of us. Here is the trailer, as well as the first few episodes. More will be coming soon!
The best way to combat the thin air problems for N/A engines is to top up the fuel tanks with a few keys of primo Bolivian marching powder as people have been using coca leaves for millennia to get the same effect…
such a racist prick.
