Spin-Cycle: Hoonigan’s Caster-Kart Volvo Is Done! Would You Have The Guts To Ride In It?

Spin-Cycle: Hoonigan’s Caster-Kart Volvo Is Done! Would You Have The Guts To Ride In It?

It’s a known fact: Take a front-wheel-drive car, leave the powertrain intact and hack everything behind the front seats off and you technically still have a useable car. You’ll have to figure out how you’re running a fuel tank, how to brace what’s left of the body and such, but it’s not a lost cause. Or, at Hoonigan, it’s more of a scientific experiment, if you will. They got their hands on a Volvo V70 that had a dying transaxle that wouldn’t pass smog to save it’s life, broke out the plasma torches and got to work. Chad showed you the in-process videos, but here’s the final solution…or, at least, here’s the running and operable version that is capable of whipping around faster than the Happy-Go-Pukey ride at your local county fair. I got a headache just watching these guys go for a wild-ass ride in this thing.

Chad says he wants to build one after seeing this. I’m half-tempted to jump in on one just to do it. There’s a 1996 Buick with the supercharged V6 near his place for $300…just putting that out there! Spin-cycle donuts, Buick couches and a killer engine to work with after the damage is done? What do you think?
