Walking through a desert collection of the kinds of cars that offers up just about any and every kind of opportunity for an enterprising project hunter is a bucket list dream for anyone who can visualize how to rescue beautiful sheetmetal. I’m not alone in saying that seeing old machines just sitting around, doing nothing but suffering the effects of time under a layer of dust doesn’t sit well. It’s one thing that at one point in time these were brand-new cars, the machine that someone brought home with a sense of pride and accomplishment. But many of the cars that Kevin of JunkyardDigs got to pour over at CTC Auto Ranch in Denton, Texas are the kinds of cars that we’ve got plans for. From the old trucks that would make killer shop truck material to the Olds 442 that just needs to be re-powered to be something neat, to the same cars I’ve seen along the fence that’s against North Star Dragway that I’ve imagined repurposing into something useful a’la Roadkill, CTC Auto Ranch is a dreamer’s paradise.Ha
