Morning Symphony: The Wild Rides Of 2019 As Seen By Urban Hillbilly Videos!

Those of us who are willing to stand right next to the track barriers for the sake of bringing you great photos and awesome video coverage have a pretty unique bond. When things on the track go down, the first thing we do is to make sure everyone is still standing and is doing ok…then and only then do they immediately scan the media, hoping they got the killer shot of the show. I’m privileged enough to work alongside some great names in the business, such as Sean Melton from Urban Hillbilly Videos. We usually see each other in Tulsa and a couple other locations, and we’ve both suffered in the heat and have frozen in the cold. We’ve also both usually find ourselves pretty close to the same incidents, given the nature of filming at the track, usually at the far end of a monster wheelstand or right about the time a tank-slapper turns into a side-smack into the wall.

For the 2019 season, he notes that this year was the safest year he’s had. Yeah, keep that in mind for a moment. Going back just a year ago saw sudden movements turn into a pile of parts that used to be a car strewn all over the track and one car taking aim directly at where he was filming before powersliding off into the tall weeds. Compared, 2019 looks to have been a cakewalk, but don’t read too far into the whole “safe year” deal. There was still plenty of moments that provided extra shots of adrenaline when needed!
