The 1988 S10 that Flaco Performance put together to replace the well known square body S10 “Cornfed” is a stunning piece of race machinery. “Mona Lisa” as the new truck is known, has the looks of a laid out custom truck, with the performance of a purpose built 275 radial running machine. I love this thing. It is stunning, and it runs as good as it looks. With a billet Noonan LS under the hood, with twin 88mm turbos, Holley EFI, and an M&M TH400, you know the thing has the parts to make the power and handle it.
What’s interesting about this truck, besides the components, fit, and finish, is the story behind it. Flaco’s “Cornfed” wasn’t for sale, but someone offered up real money and he took it. Of course that came with the stipulation that he wasn’t supposed to really talk about the fact that it sold, or to whom. But with cash in hand, he knew what he wanted to build and bough a clean factory S10 and tore it all apart to make “Mona Lisa”. He ran some No Time races with it before heading to No Mercy 11, but this truck hasn’t seen nearly the action it would have if the Rona hadn’t come along. I’ve seen it in person, am in love with it, and can’t wait to see more of it in 2021.
Until then, check out some recent testing video as the team gets ready for the 2021 season. If you like wheelstands you are going to like this one!
Awesome truck. What’s the bottle on the wing?
Hamburger on the tonneau cover too.;)
