(Words and Photos by Scott Liggett) A couple of weeks back we covered a great little car show in the small town of Hastings, NE and shared all the photos we took. This time we were in an even smaller town of Elm Creek, and when we say small, we mean it. With a population of just 950 people, it barely qualifies as a wide spot in the road, along the Lincoln Highway that runs coast to coast. But, there are a lot of great people living there, including the members of the E.C. Cruisers Car Club who put on a fun show with quality cars every year. This is why it is always on our show list every August.
We love exploring little towns like this. There are always surprises to be found whether it be old homes, unique buildings, fine food, and even some vintage tin hiding in backyards. All you have to do is stop and look. Get out there and drive those 2 lane roads and see America at its finest.
Great show and what a nice venue . Thanks for this, and please post more!
Screw the SEMA show and the like, these small shows are MUCH more interesting.
Love the Mercury!
What a great show, I’m a fan of smallish car shows also, I’ve, have been to several each month here in the SF bay area lately (100 or less cars), thoroughly enjoying them. I’m actually going to a mostly Hot Rod show in Niles, Ca. (Fremont) this morning, loving the local car culture here.
