New Carburetor from QFT

New Carburetor from QFT

Quick Fuel Technology has just announced that in a few months it will offer another new carb, this one clearly a variant of the Holley 4500 Dominator platform but created in aluminum with all-new parts and some trick features. It’s interesting that the mouths of the venturis have the little raised areas, ’60s-style. See the official text of the press release after the photo.

BOWLING GREEN, KY – The all-new, all-aluminum Quick Fuel Technology QFX Carburetor is the most innovative product the QFT engineers have ever created and will be available Spring 2009. There are 17 different QFX models specifically designed for gasoline, E-85 or methanol. With sizes from 750-1450 CFM, there is a QFX for any serious drag race application! Suggested retail prices starting at $975.

The QFX distinctive lightweight aluminum main body features a lengthened venturi section for greater mid-range torque, which is great for both throttle stop and bracket racing. Heads up racers will benefit from the raised intermediate system that provides a stronger signal and enhanced air entry section for better flow to the booster venturi. This purpose-built main body is designed with the racer in mind (Patent# D578,5505). Splits are available too!

The CNC-machined and drilled billet aluminum booster inserts provide a refined air entry and exit for improved fuel emulsion resulting in superior combustion. The red gas version has 12 discharge holes versus the conventional 8. Booster inserts were also specially engineered for E-85 (green) and methanol (blue).

QFX carbs come with all-new billet metering blocks specifically designed for each application; gas, E-85 and methanol. The cast-aluminum fuel bowls combine strength, reliability and feature dual threaded fuel inlets and dual sight glass for easy float level setting. Dedicated floats for specific applications ensure maximum performance without additional upgrade components.

The QFX carbs feature QFT’s external linkage with four different links to select the amount of primary throttle opening before the secondaries open: Moderate Progressive (25%), Medium Progressive (40%), Full Progressive (50%) and 1:1.
