I went to George Ray’s Wildcat Dragstrip on a road trip home with David Freiburger in 2007 and can tell you that this place is not a racing facility, but more like your buddy’s yard with a dragstrip that was built by friends on weekends. Asphalt patch was as prevalent as the asphalt itself and there was nothing even remotely fancy about anything. We showed up, looked around until we found someone who would talk to us, and the rest of the experience is as colorful as you might imagine. It was awesome. This place was No Prep before No Prep was a thing, and we love it.
In this latest video from Urban Hillbilly you are going to watch some great George Ray’s racing action, and as always it’s water only burnouts and hold on until the finish line. This place is narrow, rough, wild, and fun, there is no doubt. Check it out below.
