Here’s Jim’s third gallery of photos from this awesome looking show!

(Words and Photos by Jim Hrody) Appleton, Wisconsin is located in the east-central portion of the state, about 30 miles southwest of Green Bay. Each July, the Appleton Old Car Show takes over a 36 acre piece of land known as Pierce Park. This show is not relegated to one little corner. Every available area had something to see, whether it was under a canopy of trees, in an open section of grass, on the asphalt of a parking lot, or around the baseball fields.

Historically, 1000-plus cars and trucks, ranging from the brass-era to the late smog-era are in attendance. This year was the 44th annual version, with the newest eligible model year being 1992. Also on hand were a sizeable swap meet, a craft fair, and food trucks scattered around.

This show has been featured on My Classic Car in the past, but still, I had no idea of the scale of things for my first visit. We arrived about 10:00 am, which normally wouldn’t seem too late, but still had to drive around for a half hour hunting for somewhere, anywhere to park.
Finally found a spot, though seven blocks away. At the end of the day, this show is a must-see.
