(Photos by Wes Allison) We’ve shared some of our photos from the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster competition at the Grand National Roadster Show, but that’s not even close to all the cool stuff there is to see from this huge event. Held at the Fairplex in Pomona, home to the Pomona Swap Meet, NHRA’s Winternationals and World Finals, as well as the famed LA County Fair, this is one huge venue that has awesome events of all kinds, but nothing more spectacular than the Grand National. We’ll have tons of photos coming all week from this event, so tune in daily to get your next dose. Use the link below if you haven’t seen our AMBR photos yet.
America’s Most Beautiful Roadster is a title given to just one roadster per year and is considered one of the two highest hot rod award honors in the world. Given out at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona California, an event that originally started up north in Oakland, there are a select few cars that each year enter to be considered for the AMBR award. It’s like an Oscar, only harder to win and there aren’t different ones for different classes. There is just one. ARP Fasteners is the sponsor of the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award and the winner will take home $12,500 and the 9-foot tall trophy. Yeah, a 9 FOOT TALL TROPHY! But that’s not all there is to see at the Grand National Roadster Show. Far from it in fact, as the AMBR cars make up only 9 of the thousands of hot rods, customs, muscle cars, street machines, and yes roadsters, that grace the fairgrounds in Pomona for this epic show.
