Here’s our next gallery of photos from this awesome little town, that held three shows in two days! I’m impressed. And if you missed the previous photos, use the link below to check them out too.
(Words and Photos) The Morris (Illinois) Lions Club holds their Fall Classic event every year, in early to mid-October and the Lions are out promoting it all summer long at other automotive gatherings. Part of their task includes getting raffle tickets sold, and we’re talking lots of them. Each year those tickets are for a chance to win a different classic vehicle.
This time, they gave away a beautiful 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 6-pack, albeit a clone, but who wouldn’t want that?
For several years now, the Classic has been hosted at the Grundy County Fairgrounds & Speedway complex and is a two-day event, with the main happenings falling on Sunday. The show car area in the past has pushed close to containing a thousand vehicles.
There’s a bit of everything, including street machines, classics, 4x4s, muscle cars, trucks, street rods and much more with examples spanning the last hundred-plus years.
And, there is the seemingly endless swap meet having the usual expectations including car parts, tools, old toys, and various types of memorabilia. Adding to the list of things to check out are a craft fair building, some food trucks, and a sizeable car corral.
It’s always a highly anticipated event drawing spectators and participants from far and wide. If you’re looking to get some steps in and spend some money, you can certainly do that at this show. Be sure to bring a loaded wallet and comfortable shoes!
I absolutely enjoyed reading your article, and I would like to ask you to consider writing advice on how to sell your scrap automobile without hassle
