LS Fest 2015 Gallery: More Insane Sideways Action From The Middle Of The Drift Pit

No matter where you turned at LS Fest 2015, you couldn’t escape the sound of late-model GM V8 getting worked to it’s limit. The drag racing was competitive, the road course and autocross was a great test of driver skill, but out of everything that was going on, the ultimate testament to the durability of the LS engine series is drifting. Some people call drifting an art form, but the truth of it is that drifting is absolutely brutal on a car.

The engine is singing along at the upper end of it’s rev range while the brakes, steering and suspension get the workout of a lifetime and the tires serve their capital punishment. Don’t even ask about the car itself…drifters work beyond the limits of what is normal, so body contact isn’t an accident, but just part of the game. Swapped Nissan 240SXs from both the S13 and S14 generations were on-hand, and a few FC RX-7s were around, including the white car we saw power-slam the wall with it’s taillights last year. Additionally, a few BMWs were out and about and the domestics, a fourth-gen Camaro, a full-kill build GTO and a C6 Corvette that looked drastically out of place with the rest of the drivers were howling around, trailing smoke like a stunt plane as the impressive crowd cheered them on.

Check out some more of the shots we got below!
