(Photos by Wes Allison) Thanks to some creative folks who spent their time thinking rather than griping, SoCal’s Quarantine Cruises have been a great way to get out and enjoy your hot rods in Southern California during the pandemic. And while it started during the “lockdown” days, there has been no reason to stop since everyone has so much fun on these events. Lucky for us we’ve had Wes Allison out there shooting photos, which we totally appreciate and love to check out.
The SoCal Quarantine Cruises are something special because they are both a parking lot style car cruise-in and an on-road event all in one. There are a ton of cars and trucks on site and the variety is crazy and awesome to look at. This is our second batch of photos, so check them out and stay tuned because we have more for tomorrow too!
When you talk about driving events, like the Quarantine Cruise, or even local Cruise-Ins, it is really hard to beat the action in SoCal. I lived there for more than a decade and can tell you that the number of automotive things going on is second to none. Of course a huge part of that is the weather, but it’s also because the culture there is so car-centric. It’s the home of hot rodding, there are tons of hot rod parts companies, builders, and enthusiasts there and it just shows. Plus, with no rust there are a lot of old rides still around even if they haven’t been restored. So it is no surprise that the Quarantine Cruise is such a big hit and brings out such badass rides. We approve and are super thankful for the great photos from Wes Allison.
