(Photos by Cole Reynolds) It is Friday at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale and we are enjoying the hell out of this place. I have been to a lot of races, shows, conventions, and car events of all kinds, but this really is something different and special. There isn’t any way to describe this place without using A LOT of words because there is so much going on. We’ve got the 48-Hour Camaro build going on with Ridetech in the Restoration Garage, cars rolling across the auction block, and a ton of spectators walking around to look at all the cars, booths, swag, and eating great food. We had lobster grilled cheese yesterday for lunch!
We’ve been at Barrett-Jackson since Sunday and we have shot photos of almost every car hear so far, but we’re not stopping until we get them all. We’ll have galleries posting up every day for the next week at least, so make sure you check back in at least once a day. We posted two yesterday, and here is our first new gallery of the day today. Muscle Cars, Exotics, Classics, you name it, we have it here. Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson is considered by many to be the premier collector car auction in the United States and with the variety and level of cars I’m seeing here, it is no wonder why.
If you missed any of our galleries so far, use the links below to check them out.
If you haven’t been to Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale during Auction Week you are missing out on one hell of a cool spectacle. And when I say spectacle, I mean it. This is part car show, part carnival, part auction, and all bitchin. Plus there is a Ridetech 48-Hour Camaro build going on that we’re thrilled to be helping out on. We’ve never been to any car event like Barrett-Jackson before. They say more than 300,000 people will roll through the gates during the week and there are more than 1700 cars, trucks, and more on site ready to go across the block. Plus there are a TON of vendors here with all kinds of cool stuff. Everything from built cars, boats, neon, automobilia of all kinds, and great food and drinks too.
And this all just scratches the surface. The truth is there is no real way to describe Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale without finishing a sentence saying “you just have to see it.”
I’ve woken up and realized all this does is drive up the prices until they’re unattainable for the real people who have passion for these things and leaves these pieces of history as nothing more than a commodity to investors.
Don’t worry Mr This Guy, soon with the advent of electric cars and governments banning combustion engines these cars might be worthless. Be careful what you wish for. Remember, if big dollar guys didn’t buy and restore these cars they would probably be trashed and forgotten anyway.
At least with rich mooks paying silly prices more people have begin to realize old cars aren’t all junk to haul away for scrap so perhaps it has helped save a lot of them. The banker or .com millionaire isn’t interested in a project so there are still affordable cars.
great job showing the mopars
I haven’t watched one second of this year’s auction. It has become money and fool are soon parted. Ticket price for today was $80. Just stupid.
Loved the Mopar’s here!. Oh wait, there were none but lots of F body’s!
