1,100 Horsepower Out Of 1.8 Liters And Through The Front Tires? That Makes A Honda Del Sol Worthy!

Everything about this Honda Del Sol is mind-blowing. 1,100 horsepower coming 1.8 liters of Honda B18C wouldn’t be possible without a Precision 76mm turbo jamming 53psi of boost through the block. That’s the kind of pressure that lifts heads and requires massive amounts of modifications to work right. That kind of power then has to be transferred through a Honda transaxle that is just as modified as the engine, and out to the front wheels via axles that won’t twist like a plastic straw under that kind of pressure…the kind of driveshafts that Mark Williams Enterprises build. Then there is the issue of actually putting that power down…we make jokes about 2.2 turbo Chryslers and the torque-steer that those cars had, but would you be nervous, holding onto the steering wheel, knowing that when you dump the clutch all of that power is going to hit? We’d be lying if we said that this Honda doesn’t torque-steer, but we’ve seen front-wheel-drive street cars that walk more violently than this Honda off of the line. Provided you can pull everything together, [email protected] will be your reward. Playing competitively with only half of the deck is more than worthy of admiration.
