9.90s And Plated: SRTMush’s Challenger Demon Was Whipping Up At ChallengerFest 9!

With ChallengerFest in the books until next Spring, we have time to reflect a bit on what we saw. We didn’t see too many Jeeps out playing this time…we can only assume that some WKs were put into retirement for Trackhawks and SRT Durangos. We know of a Hellcat test-drive that has since gotten someone to get their own 707-horsepower dose of happiness parked into their driveway. And for the first time in a few years, the slowest modern Mopar at the event wasn’t me, because Angry Grandpa wasn’t participating in the fun and games this year. But what was playing was a Destroyer Gray Challenger Demon, one of two at the strip and three at the event that I’m aware of. The gray car belongs to SRTMush, and it’s a beastly mother. There’s work done, including tuning, and you’ll get to see it compared to a stock Demon that doesn’t have the crate PCM that turns the wick up from 808 horsepower to the full-kill 840+ horsepower mode.

I’m pretty certain that I heard that $500 was on the line on one of the Demon versus Demon laps down the track…maybe that was just track banter, I can’t be too sure…
