Aussie Doorslammer Racing! Check Out These 9-Second Rides Ripping Down Sydney Dragway

When it comes to drag racing, we love doorslammers. Old, new, doesn’t matter…if it is fast, powerful, loud and looks more “street car” than anything else, we’re on board. LS Fest, Street Car Super Nationals, Drag Week…all of that is right up our alley, especially if they are road worthy and legal. And the weirder the better…and what is weirder than a Porsche 928 with a blower sticking up through the hood? It has to be Australia, and there’s lots to like in this footage of the Super Sedan class racing. You’ll see Holdens, Fords, a Valiant that’s done up in the Sox and Martin paint scheme, utes, and Japanese rides all doing battle. The Porsche is unique, and so is the 1980s Nissan Z-car, t-tops and all. They may be on the other end of the world, but some days we’re convinced that the only difference between Australians and Americans car-wise is the accent of the driver, because everything else lines up well.
