It’s funny to say that Kyle just ran his first 9 in the famed Unicorn C5 Corvette, and that he was super stoked to break 150, since he’s gone way faster than that in standing half mile events so far. But all of his drag racing in the car to this point has been 1/8th mile stuff and so he’s been itching to get the car out and flog it on the full 1320 feet. That is after all the name of his company! Unfortunately for him the weather in Kearney Nebraska wasn’t looking to great when they arrived, with temps hovering near 100 and humidity that wasn’t helping any either.
They had a few little things try to ruin their day, but ultimately Kyle and the crew’s persistence paid off. Watch the whole video, it’s cool to see the gang so excited about something they did rather than just videoing everyone else at the track. We talked to Kyle not long after this special day and he was still grinning from ear to ear. There is more in it, and they are doing some tweaks to the engine as we speak. Soon you will see this car go even quicker, with 8’s in the future we’re sure!
How come all of these so called drag racers on the internet today have no idea how to speed shift a car. Look at the time slip. 150MPH should be mid to low 9’s.And its a turbo car.With todays rev limiters KEEP YOU RIGHT FOOT IN IT .They need to look up some old vids of Ronny Sox or Dick Landy
