Great Bend Kansas is home to SRCA Dragstrip, home of the very first NHRA National Event back in 1955. There were 219 cars and 15,000 spectators who came from all over the country for the race, and the heritage still lives on in this amazingly fun facility. This weekend is the Thunder on the Plains regional race at SRCA and features Top Alcohol Dragsters, Alcohol Funny Cars, sportsman drag racers of all kinds and some other fun stuff racing down the track. One of the cool things about this 4 day event is that the first two days are a completely separate race from the second two days. That means two winners in each class are going home with money, points, and the trophy this weekend.
