Blowers are cool. I know they may not be the most efficient thing in the world, but when you look at what one can do on a Top Fuel car, plus the completely bad ass image they portray, it is hard to argue with one. On occasion I do a search on Craigslist for Supercharger and see what comes up. Well yesterday I did just that and found a bunch of 6-71 blowers for sale. The funny thing is the two I chose to highlight here are all Littlefield Superchargers, along with a pair of intake manifolds you are not likely to see at your local swap meet very often.

I’ll start with the intakes, which are early Olds! One used intake is for a 303 or 324 and the brand new never mounted one is for a 371 Olds. Now remember the 303 Olds “Rocket” V8 was only made from 1949 to 1953 and was replaced by the 324 Olds “Rocket” V8 in 1954. It ran through 1956 with the only major difference being a larger bore than the earlier 303. How many intakes could have been made for these? I mean how many people really wanted to supercharge them?

The 371 Olds “Rocket” V8 was made from 1957 to 1960 and was bigger than the early engine due to another bore increase and a longer stroke as well. It made a maximum of 305 horsepower in the 1958 10:1 compression model.
