We might be crazy, but the Denny Bolf Wile E. Coyote Gasser Chevelle is for sale and we think it’s a screaming deal! This is the original car, and has been on display all over Southern California. It was a true barn find that has been restored to it’s current condition, which maintains as much of the period correctness from when Denny drove it in the early 1970’s. We can’t describe it any better than the seller, so here is what he has to say about it.
“Up for sale is the original 1964 Chevelle SS “Wile E. Coyote” gasser that was built and raced by Denny Bolf in the early 70’s. The car was discovered a few years ago in a barn and has gone through a very nice restoration to get it into the condition you see here. The goal has been to keep it as period correct as possible to when it raced back in the glory days.”
“The car features a mildly built 406ci SBC backed to T10 4 speed transmission with 3.73 gears and 10 bolt posi rear end. Motor includes Edelbrock tunnel ram, dual Holley 4 barrel carbs, long tube headers, Pete Jackson gear drive, MT valve covers, Flowmaster exhaust with stainless tips, and custom air cleaners. Car sits on the original Blair’s Speed Shop tube axle and custom rear suspension that it raced with in the 70’s. Wheels are American Racing Torque Thrusts on Hoosier rubber. Interior includes the original roll cage with removable side entry bars, re-upholstered front seats, new So Cal Speed Shop tach and triple pack gauge cluster, and brand new speedo cable. All of the window felt, rubber, and seals were just replaced along with several engine/transmission gaskets. The car has a spectacular two tone paint job with a metal flake roof and true gold leaf lettering / pin striping.”
“This car is an attention grabber wherever it goes and is a true piece of drag racing history. It has spent time in the NHRA museum and was just shot for a full feature in Chevy High Performance magazine that will be coming out later this year. This car brings back memories. It’s good to see it in such great shape. My grandpa and I built this car just a few years back when it was just a primered gasser. He traded this Chevy for a lowered C10. Definitely not a barn find hahaha he bought it for nothing close to this selling price and we restored most of it in his garage.
