It’s been forever since we saw a Desoto Fire Dome Eight Hemi for sale on Craigslist, but this one looks mint! Sure it needs a rebuild, but we know you can get the parts to do that and this one is awesome since it’s from a Desoto. This is the kind of thing you buy and then build a car around! It comes with the original transmission, which doesn’t matter at all to us, but we’d definitely put a T5 or something behind this sucker and get our cruise on. It might even need a chain driven blower just to be extra cool. At which point maybe a 4 speed would be more appropriate if you are making “big” power. We are in love with this sucker. Somebody buy it and make something cool out of it.

Engine was pull it out of a vehicle that sat for a long time. I am doing a complete restoration on the vehicle and up-grading to a new Challenger Engine LS swap.
Engine turns but will need to be rebuilt to make it reliable. its a great candidate for a rat rod exterior look or completely rebuilt it back to it’s original glory.

Way over priced. Those got for $500 or less when you find them as they are the most expensive to rebuild of the early hemi’s, and have pretty much no speed parts available.
That price what I would expect for a Chrysler 354 or 392 needing a rebuild.
I picked up one with an included 727 an adapter for $700. So yeah, looks overpriced to me too.
It would be worth the $1500 and a crane rental so it can be dropped on that douchebag’s head. LS in a Challenger – choke on a bag of dicks.
