I Would Make This Perfect Grandma Owned, 55,000 Mile, Fox Body Mustang Into A Race Car Tomorrow

I Would Make This Perfect Grandma Owned, 55,000 Mile, Fox Body Mustang Into A Race Car Tomorrow

I used to feel bad about stuff that was really nice and original being cut up and made into a race car or something. And I suppose I still do if it is something like an original number match super rare Chevrolet of some kind. The list of Fords not to cut up would be much shorter than the GM list. Anyway, recently while tearing apart my virgin S10 Blazer I felt bad about the fact that it would never be as nice again inside and the interior trim pieces will from here on out make noise and rattle. It was like a time capsule because NOTHING had been removed from inside the car ever before. For a couple hours it made me think. And then I remembered it’s just a 1993 S10 Blazer.

This 1983 Mustang may hold a little more meaning to some people since it is a Mustang, but not for me. I look at race car perfection, because there is no work to fix all the crap that’s wrong with the body to make it into a race car. It’s perfection. Original hubcaps, 55,000 miles, grandma owned, nice interior. Oh yeah, it’s wonderful in every way.

Check it out.

83 Mustang Fox Body Notchback Project - 2

Here is what the seller has to say:

Updated listing – Battery installed, fluids checked/topped off, gas in the tank, it runs and drives.

33 year old 1983 Mustang GL with 55,xxx original miles, the odometer has not turned over. It was my 93 year old grandmothers’, needs work and I do not have time. The paint is original and faded, it is pre clear coat and looks like it might buff out, there are no dents or dings, no body rust or cancer, the interior is in good shape other than a cracked dash, all body molding, trim, glass and lenses are intact, nothing is missing. 3.8 V-6, 2 bbl carb, automatic, original am/fm radio, factory a/c needs recharge. It has a transmission leak. Recently installed a battery, got it started and drove it around the block a couple of times. Prior to this last summer was the last time it was started, been sitting for years. Consider this a project car, it needs work to make it road-worthy but does run and drive. I have a stack of paperwork for all work performed since new including maintenance receipts from the dealership. The registration is on PNO so no back fees due.

1st $2000 OBO takes it, am somewhat flexible on the price. I’m not desperate to sell so don’t waste time with low ball offers, it is already priced low for what it is but will consider serious offers in person only. This listing will be deleted when sold.

  1. Will-I-Is

That would make a good sleeper car. Leave the outside as is, add sticky tires, a 351W and a bit of nitrous….
