We dig 50’s Chevy pickups in general, but the mid to late “big” trucks are just too sexy not to drool over. Make it a big window truck and it’s definitely worth some money and super killer once built. But most of the time they are done up as clean street trucks, restorations, or are built street rod style. Occasionally you find one that is back halved, but it’s not all that usual to see one that is built to be a gasser. And we totally approve! This particular beast is for sale here in SoCal and the asking price is $22,500. Seems like a pretty fair price considering just how straight this thing appears to be, and all the parts and fabrication that has gone into making it what it is.
And what it is is awesome! With a .030 over 396, a Muncie, tons of go fast and cool parts, including the requisite giant ladder bars out back. We want this thing!
Here is what the seller has to say:
56 Chevy big window gasser. 1969 396 30/over 10-1 comp motor w/ Mallory distributor, gear drive, comp hydraulic racing cam, Edelbrock tunnel ram w/ two 660 center squirters, Holley carburetors w/ custom throttle linkage, moon eyes valve covers, speedway fender well headers with 2 1/2″ flow master mufflers, M20 Muncie 4-speed transmission, chrome straight front axle w/ power disk brakes, Ford 9″ rear end w/ custom ladder bars, bucket seats with custom seat brackets and custom firewall work.
Truck has original gas tank behind seat: it is not being used and an 8 gallon gas tank in bed
Wheels are 15×5 on the front and 15×10 in the rear – Firestone street drag slicks
Custom moon eyes radiator overflow tank mounted in front
Solid truck no rust holes and runs and drives nice!!
Truck built for my Dad but he is no longer able to drive it

Yet another shit Chevy and yet another “Please kill me!” car.
What is it with these bow tie freaks – they continually ruin their cars and I think they secretly hate them and therefore torture them and end up with creations like this…
you don’t understand a gasser truck plain and simple
Cool truck, the engine looks like it came out of the ’55 Chevy in Two Lane Blacktop.
I’d take the riser blocks out of the front axles and paint it. Then it may be worth the $22K there asking.
No it doesn’t.
