This Big Tire 1971 Plymouth Duster Is One Clean Machine With A Twist

This Big Tire 1971 Plymouth Duster Is One Clean Machine With A Twist

So before you threaten to burn it to the ground, know that there isn’t actually an engine in this Plymouth Duster even though it is setup for a Big Block Chevrolet. Also know that because it is a tube chassis car there is nothing stopping you from installing a Mopar in it, as this will only take a motor plate and headers to make happen. Same goes for the trans, as it is currently setup for either a glide or 400, but since they fit you know a 727 will slide right in. So put down the pitchforks and torches. All can be made right in the world again.

So assuming you are going to put a 500 inch wedge motor and a 727 in it, or even a Hemi combo, this car should fly. With a 565 Bracket big block in it the car ran deep in the 8’s. We’re pretty sure that with a good Mopar engine and maybe a small toot from NOS, this is a 7 second player. We’re not sure what the chassis is certified to, but we’re sure making it cert for quicker than 8.50 wouldn’t be an issue since it is a tube car.

And did you see the detail in the grill? That’s painted on, not a real grill! Yeah very well done. Check it out.

It has been contaminated by the orange lump. A Hemi may fix things but there will always be those implications. Has to be a fire sale price to make it feasible.

Yeah this car should fly with close to a 970hp. Hemi In it. Of course with a fogger setup on tap.

I’m a GM guy, but this thing needs a Mopar engine in it. Go for a Wedge or throw others off with a built slant six.
