Tim McAmis Shows How Using a Shrinker Stretcher Makes It Possible To Flush Mount Rear Windows The Easy Way

A shrinker stretcher is one of the simplest tools, easy and cheap to acquire, and insanely useful. In the video below, Tim McAmis is going to show you how to use one to flush mount a rear window in your car using his Weld-On Quarter Turn Fastener Rails. You can use this same method using any commercially available quarter turn fastener rails. The shrinker stretcher will curve these rails to fit a curved window opening in this case, but will also work to curve a quarter turn fastener rail being used to hold a hood, trunk lid, or other body parts on. Watch and you’ll see what we’re talking about.

Video Description:

A little while back we had video detailing our Weld-On Quarter Turn Fastener Rails and how they can be used to flush mount your rear window and make it removable.

This video takes you through the process of using a Shrinker Stretcher Tool to form the straight rails to match the profile of your rear window.

Quarter-Turn Fastener (Dzus) Rails serve multiple uses in constructing your race car. Originally designed for flush mounting rear windows on a steel bodied car, our Weld-On Dzus rail can also be utilized in various locations during the construction process.
