They call it the House of Hook, and it appears to be for good reason! This video of the Angry Yankee Racing 4-Door 1966 Impala during a grudge race at Carolina Dragway, aka The House of Hook, shows the Impala staging with the back tires and leaving on the tree. When it does it climbs to the sky dragging the bumper hundreds of feet down the race track with sparks a flying! It’s awesome. I love these big cars and the overhand in the rear is HUGE so you wouldn’t think one of these could get up really high. But with all that wheelbase and length the front of this car is still way high in the air even though the angle isn’t as sharp as say a Fox body Mustang. Either way it’s fun to watch and this thing went straight as a string.
Considering this big beast used to leave twisted up like a pretzel I’m impressed.
