While broadcasting live from the Muscle Cars at the Strip event this past weekend we were treated to what is one of the coolest cars in drag racing history, making it’s final pass with 80 year old Bob Riggle behind the wheel. This is the video from the last pass that the Hurst Hemi Under Glass will ever make, as Bob is retiring for good. It couldn’t have been better to watch, and it couldn’t have been smoother. He even knocked the finish line block over with the headers as he went by. Bob rules. And we are incredibly grateful to have been there to watch.
Before you say that Bob has “retired” before, know that this time his promise of retirement wasn’t to himself, but rather to his wife. And this one is for good.

Absolutely one of the best guys in auto sports ever. One of the coolest cars ever. And the reason I love drag racing. I was a young kid not old enough to drive. Went to us 30 in Gary with my older brother. Walked in very first time I ever saw a drag strip. And the first two cars down the track hemi under glass next to the little red wagon. How cool! I was hooked for life . thanks Bob.
