We will never get tired of old work trucks that find a second life as street sweepers. You know the kind…beat-up bed, rusty in spots, a seat cover that’s probably thirty years old (at least)…the kind of truck you still stand a pretty good chance of finding on a farm somewhere in Flyover, America. Take your beast of a race engine, dump it in, make sure everything between it and the tires is up to the task at hand, and put on some rubber that has a fighting chance against the wall of torque, and prepare to hurt feelings. Bonus points if the truck looks like it just left work a couple of hours ago will be awarded.
This late 1980s Chevy shortbed loses all sleeper credit once the exhaust comes to life. There is no hiding the bomb underneath the hood, but there is little to no information out there, either. Why? This truck is a grudge racer…that’s why you’ll have to break out the stopwatch if you want to guess what it’s running. We’re plenty curious ourselves about this beast, but for now, check out what it can do when cut loose. Oh, this is giving us bad ideas…
I call it 5-6sec 1/8 mile but I could be wrong.
Was that white rig in the other lane “casper”?
